The Stories We Almost Forgot

The Next Page Is Ours
Maybe the stories we almost forgot were never really lost.
Maybe they were waiting beneath the noise, tucked between our responsibilities, our changing routines, and all the things we promise ourselves we'll return to someday.
The remarkable thing about stories is how patiently they wait.
An unfinished book doesn't know how long it's been sitting on the shelf. A poem doesn't care whether its reader is sixteen or sixty. A story written centuries ago can still speak to someone living an entirely different life.
There is no expiration date on curiosity.
And somewhere, perhaps beside a window overlooking Chautauqua Lake or at a kitchen table far beyond our little corner of New York, someone is opening a book, writing a first sentence, or discovering a story that will stay with them for years.
The next chapter of storytelling is not waiting for someone else to write it.
It belongs to all of us.
